August Catch Up: Advise for buying a PS Vita!

Hey guys!

Well July went fast! Which is a shame because it is my favourite month of the year, it includes both mine and my boyfriend's birthdays :]! I had a lovely birthday, went to an amazing Thai restaurant close to my parents house at the weekend and then went to my favourite Japanese restaurant on the Thursday night of my birthday, so technical I had 2 birthdays :] like the Queen!
But the best thing about my birthday, is that my awesome boyfriend bought me a PS Vita ^_^ yaaay! Now, it turns out, since my last blog, that because I now work in the games industry I can get in to trouble if I post any of my personal opinions about video games, so unfortunately all those reviews I said I was going to do will no longer be posted :( sorry!

I can however give you a little bit of advice if you are thinking of becoming a Vita owner :]!

1. If you are seriously thinking of buying a Vita definitely be prepared to spend more than the console value, trust me it is definitely worth it and will save you tonnes of money in the long run!

2. Although the 3G model is a great idea and if you travel around a lot it is nice to have access to the internet, I find I don't really miss it on the WiFi model. All my downloads and updates I do at home before I take it out and I use my phone to access things like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc. You can always upgrade to the 3G at a later date.

3. I would DEFINITELY buy at least 3 months of Playstation Plus and the biggest memory card you can afford! Mine came with an 8gb and I still can't fit all the games on it that I have got free from PS+! There is an amazing variety of games available for free every month, granted they won't all be to your liking, but they definitely give you a taster! If you a dubious then get the 3 months and play what it a available, but I think £40 for a year of free games is 100% worth it!

4. Once you own your Vita, if you are browsing the store and see a game you fancy, always look up how much it would cost to buy a hard copy! If it is the same or a couple of quid more, get the hard copy! It will cost you more to buy an new memory card once you have filled it! Save your memory!

5. Finally, get one soon! There are some crazy deals on them at the minute! The closer we get to the PS4 launch the more money you will have to fork out for the things you want! I have noticed a few interface updates since I have had mine, they are preparing them for optimum PS4 compatibility, they will soon be selling like hot cakes!

I hope that was useful! My next update is going to be one about my new hair :] if you follow me on Instagram then you will know that I now have pink, purple and blue hair! So I will be reviewing some of the products I have used!

Thank you if you have took the time to read this, have a good day <3

Things are looking up ^_^

Hi everyone :)

So I start my new job next Monday, I'm so excited :D!! It's not an artist job like I wanted but I will be working in a Games Studio ^_^! I have managed to land a job as a Games Tester at TT Fusion, the studio behind the Lego games and coincidently the studio my boyfriend works at :)!

This is just a quite post to let you know that things are ok :) it couldn't of come at a better time, I was nearly out of money! I will finally be able to treat myself to something nice! It's been so long! Maybe a new keyboard and mouse or maybe a PS Vita! After E3 I have decided (along with many others) that I will be buying a PS4 on release day! I will be buying a Xbox One at a later date for the exclusives but I think this time the playstation will be my primary console. So in my excitement I have dusted off my PS3 and bought 90 days of PS plus :)! This month free titles are incredible, I am currently addicted to Little Big Planet Karting and LOTR War in the North! Kingdom of Amular: Reckoning is also very cool, I definitely recommend investing in PS plus this month!
I am nearing the end of LOTR so I will do a write up on it when I'm done. Although very good over all, it does have some rather irritating elements!

So what did you all think of E3 :)? What games are you looking forward to? Are you jumping on the PS4 bandwagon? Or are you stay on the fence?
Leave your comments below ^_^

My Busy Year Thus Far!

Hi everyone!
Sorry it's been a while, I've had quite an eventful year thus far!

I have been to Italy for the first time, which is absolutely beautiful! I would recommend it to anyone! Here is a couple of pictures, I took tonnes but these are my favourites :]

I love that duck :]
This reminds, I took some lovely pictures at Blackpool Zoo last weekend I will post them later in the week :]

Several other things have gone on, but more recently, I decided to quit my job as Shop Manager of the Tattoo Studio. I feel like there has been a lot of controversy over this, especially as it meant I would be unemployed, but I had very good reasons to and I feel like it was definitely the right decision.
I won't go into too much detail, but all my life I have been a talented artist. I don't take pride in many things I do, but I have always excelled at drawing. After being refused a position in the shop as a Tattoo Artist I felt like everyday was a waste of my potential and I needed to get out.
I am now doing some freelance work and working part-time for my Dad's company, I spend everyday drawing and digital painting, I am so much happier in knowing that every hour I spend drawing will pay off, so I draw 5-6 hours a day - 5 days a week :]

The only hurdle in this decision is that I am earning a lot less money than I was and only just have enough to pay my bills. It's definitely a sacrifice but I have worked nearly 6 years in retail and think it's time I aimed higher. I have decided I will only except a job if it means I can excel creatively, I don't want to waste anymore time. Life is just too short for that :]

Unfortunately, due to having no money or much spare time, my progress on my current cosplays (Solty Revant, Matryoshka Gumi and Night Elf Druid) is very slow... Our cosplay website is still being updated though with the other girls progress, so please check it out!

Some more big news :D!! Just before I left my job I managed to scrap enough money together to go to Blizzcon this year ^_^! I am so excited! I will do a separate post on that, but I really can't wait!

Wow this is a long one! Ok last 2 things, I am going to add a few sections to my blog. The E3 conference is later tonight so I would like to write some thoughts on what is revealed, I would also love some feedback from what everyone else thinks so please join in the discussion :]

I also want to start a healthy eating/living section, despite not having very much income at the moment I was expecting to struggle to buy good, healthy food but I'm finding it really easy to keep healthy. My exercise regime could do with a bit of work. But I haven't put on an inch of weight since I commited to spending 5-6 hours a day sat on my bum drawing! So I will entitle it something witty like Skinny Geeks or Nutritious Nerds :]

Ok, that's just about everything! I will try make this a little more regular and hopefully my new topics will attract some lovely new faces :]

Take care everyone, be happy and look after yourselves x

From 'Directions' to 'Special Effects'

Hey!

So one of my New Years Resolution this year was to try out some different hair dyes! I love having pink hair and I don't ever want to change it :) so I want to find a dye that I love and stick to it.
Last year I used 'La Riche Directions - Flamingo Pink' I diluted it 50-50 with conditioner (see my YouTube video) so create the colour below. Although I really like the colour, one wash and it would faded to a very unattractive pinky orange :-/!

I've tried several things:
- Washing my hair and then applying a conditioning spray
- Washing it twice a week and using lots of dry shampoo
- Mixing pink dye into my conditioner

And none of these prevented it fading So I have decided to try 'Special Effects - Atomic Pink'. It is much more expensive, Directions usually retails at around £3.50 - £4.00, whereas the average price of Special Effects is £12.99. You seem to get more in the bottle than you do in the tub but there is still a massive price difference!

So below you will see a comparison of the two (first is Directions, second is Special Effects), I will be updating every time I wash my hair and showing you how it progressively fades and how long it lasts until I have to buy another bottle!
Also worth mentioning that by adding conditioner to my Directions I tend to use 2/3 of a tub. I didn't add any conditioner to my Special Effects but I had to use 3/4 of the bottle! So let's see if its worth the money!
Keep checking my YouTube channel for updates too :) xxx

How to dye your hair neon pink

Hey :]
Here is a video I made on how to dye your hair using La Riche Directions Flamingo Pink. Also some tips on what shampoo and conditioner to use :]

Enjoy x

Bright, Colourful and Affordable Make-Up

Hi :)

So I thought I'd do a post about how I do my current everyday makeup! I'm not someone who likes to spend a lot on makeup, I'd rather splash out on a new Xbox game :P so this is perfect to make a statement on a low budget :)!

This look is created with:
MUA white eyeliner pencil - £1 from Superdrug
MUA black mascara - £1 from Superdrug
Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner - £8 (which is expensive but I really recommend it over liquid eyeliner! Also that little pot seems to last forever!)
Collection 2000 Poptastic Eyeshadow Palette - I actually got this free when I bought 3 other Collection 2000 products (which aren't expensive) but I think it retails at about £5 and you can change up the colours whenever you want)
Eyeshadow brush - £1.80 mine is from Superdrug but you can get them so cheap and the quality doesn't really make a difference!

**Optional
Stargazer Liquid Eyeliner in Pink - £3 from EBay (for your eyebrows)

This is so quick and easy to do!
1. Apply white eyeliner to your eyelids, and under your eyes, cover them until they are completely white :D!
2. Brush colour 1 into the corner of your eye (closest to your nose) over the white eyeliner and cover exactly half of your eyelid.
3. Brush colour 2 from the other corner of you eye to meet the other one, so you have half and half.
4. Apply colour 2 under your eye, on top of the white eyeliner.
5. Furiously blend the 2 together, I usually use 1 side of the brush from one colour and the other side for the other, so they do not blend until you want them too.
6. Apply a thin line of black gel eyeliner to the top above your lashes and then bring it from the far corner to about half way underneath your eye.
7. Apply your mascara and hit the town :D!

Time: 10 - 15 mins
Cost: £19.80

You may have to top up your supply of MUA eyeliner and mascara but the rest would easily last you 8 - 10 months :)

Enjoy looking awesome ^_^
